Local punk three piece CANADIAN RIFLE return with their trademark gruff vocals, melodic-punk guitar riffs and incredibly fast dirty hardcore.   All the way from Pilsen, DAYLIGHT ROBBERY returns playing dark, intense and insanely catchy indie-leaning punk rock with shouty male-female vocals and serious muscle.  The members of the trio have played in some of Chicago’s raddest bands, including the PEDESTRIANS, MANHANDLERS and BOYSTOWN and just last month released their sophomore LP, Ecstatic Vision, via Residue Records.  Mixing in elements of 90s pop, harder-edged punk melody and searing guitar with a deep bow to the first ladies of the Pacific northwest, Melbourne’s DEEP HEAT deliver 8 tracks of driving and propulsive buzz on their debut EP, Low Lights.  The energy from the mix of buzzing guitars, raw vocals and thumping drums bound out of speakers and if reports on the ol interwebs are to be believed, each live show plays like a cool house party with, in the words of Bombshell Zine, “who brought the beer bong?”.  POPULATION, an outfit comprised of members of some of Chicago’s most inventive punk rock, garage and new wave psych bands come together with their combination the robotic rhythms and deathly vocal delivery of NEW ORDER with the overpowering sonic structures of early shoe gaze noise to kick off tonight’s sonic sprawl.
