In 2005, after leaving his road band, Husky Burnette set out to do his own thing, as a solo artist with a band behind him. He hit the road and toured the US, releasing the 3 track EP 'Snake Oil Salvation' on his own in 2007. In 2009, Husky won the FYI Awards 'Best Blues Band' award in Tennessee/Georgia. After joining up with record label Cracker Swamp Records, 2011 saw a huge step forward for Husky Burnette: the release of his first full length album entitled "Facedown In The Dirt" (named Album Of The Year by R/N/Z Magazine), the re-release of his 2007 EP "Snake Oil Salvation", and lastly, a guitar endorsement deal with Tampa, Florida’s Cigar City CBG’s company.
Husky can also be found on recordings by Polecat Boogie Revival (self-titled debut EP and Everybody Loves ANTiSEEN: A Tribute To The Boys From Brutalsville tribute album), an untitled EP by Roger Alan Wade and the latest effort by label-mate Olds Sleeper, “Plainspoken”, and slide guitar work in the film Anti-Horror (2005).
Husky now continues to tour nationally with a drummer backing him up to complete a raw two-man-band line-up, playing up to 200 shows a year. He is currently working on his follow-up EP to his full length, due out in 2012 on Cracker Swamp Records.
