Los Straitjackets, who originated in Nashville, Tennessee offer their unique brand of instrumental/surf/garage tonight. When combined with their goofy stage antics and personalized Mexican wrestling masks it becomes fun and exciting for all ages. Los Straitjackets have had their music played on many radio and television commercials, been featured in comedy/horror film, “Psycho Beach Party,” based on the play by the same name, and they were one of Conan O’ Brian’s most celebrated late night talk show guest/acts during the holiday season in the ‘90s. If you’ve been a Beachland regular since our opening, you either have heard tales about Los Straitjackets parties, or have been to one yourself. Well, this one’s even better. Why? Original Straitjackets member Daddy-O Grande (aka Danny Amis) has won his battle with cancer and will be back with his piledriving, lucha libre-powered riffs Come celebrate the return of this beloved guitarist with not just a set by the Straitjackets, but by another Beachland fave: Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite boys, the legendary West Coast band who do a swingin’ thing the best it’s ever been done!
