Marshall Crenshaw & The Bottlerockets
plus Rainy Day Saints
Thursday, Aug 16, 2012 8:30 PM EDT
(7:30 PM Doors)
Beachland Ballroom, Cleveland, OH
(The Bottlerockets will be backing Crenshaw only)
Beachland fave Marshall Crenshaw returns to the Beachland tonight with a full band backing him up, which is a nice alternative to the many great solo acoustic gigs he’s done on our stage. This singer-songwriter and rock n’ roll, now 30 years into his career, has released a new CD, Jaggedland. But that’s not all. He’s also used the power of online crowdfunding platform Kickstarter to help finance a vinyl and digital EP subscription series, which means a 3-song EP will be released 3 times per year over two years. That’s a lot of music, but as those of you who know and love Marshall’s work, quantity and quality are not a problem! Opening are great Cleveland power-pop band Rainy Day Saints, which features a slew of veterans from the CLE scene, such as Dave Swanson (Reactions, Death Of Samantha, Cobra Verde), Brian McCafferty (Reactions, The Unknown), and the Pickering Brothers (Scott and Keith, who’ve played in too many bands to mention) and sax player Marianne Friend.
