Since their first self-released demo Demolition in 2006, Phoenix’s speed thrash progressive metal champions VEKTOR have set themselves apart from fellow revivalists with their interstellar mix of extreme metal styles.  Their newest LP, Outer Isolation on Heavy Artillery, is a blur of intricate alchemy that whips up visions of what one might expect to encounter following a collision between late 80s DESTRUCTIN and VOIVOD.  In the words of Metal Review, “bloody hell, this band’s speedy execution is ridiculously precise – stormily accurate jackhammer drumming bounces off the reactor walls alongside perfectly matched nuclear riffing with explosive results.”  Austin’s MEGANAUT churns out some extremely hard rock with an injection of metal that, according to their hometown press, makes the “MEGANAUT fans go nuts.”
