Norwegian superstar Sondre Lerche has been experimenting with song forms since his entry into the indie-rock world ‘round 2006 or so. He’s veered from sounds both rickety and soothing, incorporating post-punk’s inspired slop, Brazilian bossanova, jazz, and other influences. Underneath his musical morphing, however, Sondre’s hooks are impressively sharp. Regardless of whether he’s channeling Joao Gilberto or The Wedding Present, Sondre’s songs deliver. His latest album is Bootlegs, a series of live performances drawn from gigging in his hometown of Bergen. Opening is the loose and lo-fi pop of Fancy Colors, an offshoot of Of Montreal.
