21 years and over
Four years ago, LEMONADE relocated from the Bay Area to Brooklyn and released its self-titled debut LP to much critical acclaim. Featuring spicy long-form jaunts, tropical rhythms, spacey agro-punk and World-influenced trance, LEMONADE established quite a reputation for their ability to hang 10 atop an electro chillwave. The Pure Moods EP followed much of the same structure but on their new sophomore LP, Diver out last month via True Panther, the interwebs are praising LEMONADES ability to put out music that is undeniably catchy, praised by Consequence of Sound for being “genuinely exciting,” “eerie and seductive” and “surprisingly stunning.” In the words of The Fader, LE1F’s Dark York mixtape is “one of the most provocative rap releases so far this year, a major work that constantly and subversively carves a distinct space for itself without stepping outside of the feel of popular hip-hop.” NEW CANYONS, a local outfit that delivers their extremely likeable take on melodramatic icy synth pop, will open playing songs off their newest effort, the BLVD Records released Everyone is Dark.
