"STEPHAN MÖLLER was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1955. At the Mozarteum academy in Salzburg, Austria, he studied piano performance with Hans Leygraf and orchestra conducting with Gerhard Wimberger. 1983-89, he was an assistant to Herbert von Karajan at Salzburg Festival. In 1985, he won third prize at the International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna, Austria.
Stephan Möller is busily concertizing in Europe, the Americas, Japan and China. Especially remarkable are complete performances of Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas and five piano concerti, as well as his interpretations of Franz Liszt´s concert paraphrases on Wagner's operas and Beethoven's symphonies. Among his CD recordings, there are rarities such as Beethoven's Grosse Fuge for piano duet, played on a computer-assisted Bösendorfer grand piano, and the world premiere integral recording of Wagner's piano compositions.
Since 1990, Stephan Möller is piano professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria. Additionally, he is frequently invited to hold lectures and master-classes in many different countries. In 1996, he was awarded the ""Great Artist Award"" by the Beethoven Society for Pianists (USA) and the ""Award of Excellence"" by Shenyang Conservatory (China). In 1999, he founded the Vienna International Pianists Academy (""VIP Academy""), a successful summer festival for young pianists. Stephan Möller is president of the ""Vienna International Pianists"" association and board member to the Austrian Society of Music."
