The lights drop, the sound crackles a bit, and the crowd begins to aggressively sway back and forth. Then as your stomach knots up, it hits you: Blood for Blood is about to play, and you better get the hell out of the way. Hailing from Boston, this band and its reputation for performing the most blistering live sets have become the stuff of legend. The hype and the rumors are well deserved. The band's ability to cross over into other music genres has garnered it a loyal diverse and ferocious following of hardcore kids, punks, skinheads, and metal heads, all itching for a chance to try their luck.

Inspired by bands such as Sheer Terror, Breakdown, Carnivore, and Raw Deal, Blood for Blood formed as a reaction to the existing heavy music scene in Boston back in 1995. "We couldn't relate to anything that was going on in Boston at the time," says vocalist Erick Medina. "We wanted to hear music about the shit we saw and faced every day. The scene at the time was a fashion show." The members of this band make no mistake about what their talents are – and what talents they lack. They don't sing. They don't rap. They don't dance. They don't act. And they definitely aren't too pretty. They are white trash hardcore rock 'n' roll, and they've begun their invasion of today's hair-and-nails-conscious heavy music scene all over again.

With a phenomenal back catalog most bands only dream of having, including Enemy (1997), Revenge on Society (1998), Livin' in Exile (1999), and Wasted Youth Brew (2001), Blood for Blood delivered its last record (Serenity) in 2004 and soon went dormant. A little less than a decade later, the beast has re-emerged. Playing what some call the band's best live appearance on record, Blood for Blood made its return co-headlining the New England Metal Fest 2011, playing to a sold-out crowd. A high-profile string of festival and concert dates followed, including capacity shows throughout the country. Now in 2012, the band is preparing to continue the rampage with the upcoming release of its Thorp Records debut MCD. So if you've plowed through all your dead ends and need to find friendship in a cold hard world, or if rock bottom has ever left you praying under cold street lights, then it's time you raise your fist in the air and join in the outlaw anthems. Blood for Blood is back.
