A LIVING PORTRAIT (ex Raise The Red Lantern)
We are four best friends who love playing music together. We just finished creating our debut EP "Sea Bears". Its available for download on Bandcamp for however much you'd like to pay. We love all of you, see you soon.
After a year of looking for a full-time bassist, finally in mid-2010 Chicago band Masses added a third member to its already existent guitar/vocals and drums setup. Since then, the group has established their ‘heavy indie’ sound as the summation of those three pieces - part angular attack, a la the ‘90s indie rock sound of Quicksand; a slice of murky sonic drones and galloping palm mutes not unlike Fucking Champs; and a winking homage to guitar heroes like Iron Maiden. Distortion and unassumed melody are premiums here, folks. Expect to feel some rumbling bass and snare blats and maybe see a string or two break in the process, who knows.
With each member having distinct musical backgrounds and influences, Tempus De focuses on writing music that blends together ambient and melodic layers with technical groove-rhythms. We strive to challenge ourselves musically, and to ultimately write something that is our own.
Carved from the landscape and piled upon the horizon, Drumlins collectively gaze from the foot of the lake searching for the primordial ooze of their creation. From the apex of a great glacial kame a sound was born; soaked in the elixirs that helped create it, weathered by smoke and time.
