This is really a workshop aimed towards giving composers the real world insights and tools that can help them to realize their potential in this wacky business and in life. I have presented this workshop in L.A two times and in Vancouver B.C and most recently in Seattle. Every time people come up and tell me how this workshop gave them a clearer view of ways to move themselves forward, not only in scoring but in the human things. I like to say, the greatest composition we will ever create will ultimately be our own self. I have expanded the extensive notes with many new parts.
We will have a special pre-workshop hike up in the Verdugos 3 PM April 13th after the Ravel Study. This hike is optional and open to anyone. The purpose is to give everyone a chance to relax and get to know each other in a casual setting, plus it will be a great way to talk about the challenges of the scoring business as we look down across the city where is all happens. It is not a super strenuous hike, but I suggest wearing comfortable hiking clothes and shoes. Bring water. It is about a mile walk.
