Additional Information

Tonight we celebrate the release of Live at the Empty Bottle, an exciting compilation recorded and curated by SHIMBY MCCREERY of some of the best and most rad performances we’ve hosted on our stage in the last year or so.  Where to start in describing MARK SULTAN?  Whether performing as a one man band, as he does on his newest LP, the excellent $ out via Last Gang Records, or as part of the KING KHAN & BBQ SHOW, SULTAN always sounds as if he could’ve been on tour with a Sun Records road show if he’d been born in the proper time and place. Lucky for us, SULTAN began his old timey conquering of the world at the turn of the last century and has been performing outlandish yet traditional old blues rock n roll ever since - making boys go crazy and girls faint at his feet.  Featured on the Live at the Empty Bottle LP, powerhouse quintet OUTER MINDS join us with their take on the sounds of garage rock's first wave filtered through enough reverb to give their songs a dreamlike quality. In the last two years they’ve become one of our favorite party bands and in the words of Roctober, "we're outta our minds for this roughhewn but super sharp 60s-style, harmony-havin', garage psyche grooviness. Any band that can sound like the PARTRIDGE FAMILY and YARDBIRDS on the same song have my vote!"    Chicago fuzzy garage rockers MAGIC MILK open tonight’s retro extravaganza celebrating the release of their most recent Mellows out via Slow Fizz.
