SMOKE DZA

Hip-hop is just a hobby for some, but for Smoke DZA, it's a way of life. Though his musical journey is not far removed from his early days in Harlem, DZA has recorded with the likes of Asher Roth, Big K.R.I.T., Devin the Dude, and Curren$y, to name a few. In the past few years he has released a steady stream of mixtapes to critical acclaim, including Substance Abuse (2009), Substance Abuse 1.5: The Headstash (2010), George Kush Da Button (2010), and one of his most recent projects, T.H.C. (The Hustler's Catalog) (2011), which is quickly making its way around the internet. DZA credits his longevity to creating laidback, honest music that people can vibe to, and to always staying true to the art of hip-hop. With all of the disposable music threatening the culture of an art form he is trying to help preserve, Smoke DZA is a welcome breath of fresh air that will make you grateful for the contact high.

SPACEGHOSTPURRP

Muney Jordan, aka SpaceGhostPurrp, is an underrated rapper and hip-hop producer who has recently ascended to prominence in the underground hip-hop community. A child of the '90s who hails from Miami, FL, he counts as his influences Three 6 Mafia, UGK, DJ Paul, Eazy E, and DJ Screw. About his sound, LA Weekly recently declared: "It sounds as though he's sunk a creaky, abandoned arcade into a sea of thickened cough syrup. Yet just as easily, he rockets you out of that ominous oblivion with the kind of ricocheting bass lines born only in the South." His releases include NASA The Mixtape (2010) and BLVCKLVND RVDIX 66.6 (2011).
