Additional Information

A broad introduction for civilian professionals to military culture. This essential first course is designed to promote understanding of military culture and related life circumstances among civilian professionals who do not have substantial knowledge of military life or extensive experience engaging military-affiliated clients. Complex issues regarding the military as a culture will be examined, including warrior identity and ethos, structure and roles of the service branches, motivations for military service, patterns of socialization, diversity issues and their policy implications, and the ethical considerations and reporting obligations specific to working with servicemembers. This is a self-paced online course, available 24/7 which you will access through the online learning website, Epsilen Global Learning Environment. Within this site, you will have access to a guest journalist who will participate in the online discussion forum the week of Feb. 6 - 12.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a self-paced online seminar and you will be accessing your seminar through the Epsilen Global Learning System (GLS). You will have access to the course on Epsilen until 7/31/12.  Within 48 hours you will receive an e-mail from Epsilen which will prompt you to set up an account with Epsilen (if you do not already have one) and join the seminar.  This email will be sent to the email address you provide when you register. If you do not receive your invitation, please check your spam filter, then contact knowledge@nytimes.com.
