MOVING UNITS are more into moving butts, if you catch our drift. These guys have been kindly forcing people into fits of dancing with the power of their Italo-disco meets Sonic Youth fusion of dance punk. Formed all the way back in 2001, this marks the first time they’ve ventured all the way from California to play our stage. Frontman Blake Miller has released the group’s first full length in 6 years, which adapts easily to modern tastes thanks to an endless supply of energy by his fresh, groovin’ back-up band. Chicago four-piece BRING YOUR RAY GUN will be returning to the Bottle tonight with a set of their infectious, hip-friendly dance-rock. The group's been taking the city by storm, rocking shows around the city in as little as their undies, and Loud Loop Press has praised their "feisty vocal distortion, wacky synths, and funky bass lines [with] trace elements of electro-rock groups like THE FAINT and GANG OF FOUR.” With guitars howling like a feral Rottweiler off its leash, the group’s as threatening as they are fun-as-hell, so get here early and stake out your spot on the dance floor. ROYALE had to cancel as the opener, but luckily our pals in MORE GORGEOUS have stepped up to fill the void. Their debut album, Escape from Terror Beach, is a confident, meticulously crafted debut from a promising, young band.
