For 40 years, the medical establishment has devoted billions of dollars and billions of hours to cancer research. Some say the war on cancer is being won. Others say progress has been slight. Despite the decades of study, scientists still disagree about whether diet, exercise and other changes can help combat or prevent cancer. And there is still confusion about what cancer is, what the statistics gathered about it mean and how to assess and treat it. This self-paced, onlin course will examine these issues, explain why the disagreements exist, and try to make sense of the welter of conflicting claims about cancer.
