Attention you rock n’ roll romantics: here’s the story of starry-eyed Matthew Hitt, a young man from Wales who found himself in NYC circa 2011. Young and hungry musician that he is, he naturally falls for the charms of that impetuous city, starting a band whose sound is reflective of wild dreams, long nights, and clanging energy. Drowners (perhaps named after the excellent Suede tune of the same name?) is rock n’ roll for the sexy now crowd, all cheekbones, nervous cigarettes, and torrid love letters via Instagram. While we've mentioned Suede, anybody remember UK band Gene? A bit of Smiths, a bit of this and that? Drowners give that to you. We’ll stop with the adjectives now. Daylight Is The Dream, an Ohio band with hints of everything from Cloud Nothings to Pavement, open.
