AMRITA (ex The Academy Is, Octobers Fall, Blacktop Mourning)
After a long break from the Chicago music scene, ex-members of The Academy Is..., White|Claudia, Blacktop Mourning, October Fall and more, have collaborated to put together a new distinctive musical project that blends the influences of timeless classic rock with a modern twist on progressive music. Echoing in the styles of bands such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Yes, and The Mars Volta; Amrita intends to catch people's attention from all different genres of music.
Elixir on Mute is an electrifying sonic assault led by the young guitar virtuoso Jordan Ferreira, and is rounded out by a cadre of players whose contributions round out the rotating EOM lineup. EOM Players include Jon Reshard (bass), Dana Hawkins (drums), Thomas Pridgen (drums/ex The Mars Volta), Steve Jenkins (bass) and Kilian Duarte (bass). Band leader Ferreira captains the trio and is an ambitious young musician who single-handedly formed EOM in 2010. Jordan’s cinematic approach to music, sheer musical acumen, and tireless work ethic results in a complex yet refined project. The recordings blossom with the help of a few amazing musicians, producing hard-hitting yet complex tracks that will entice intelligent listeners. This is prog-rock at its best - skill paired with intentionality, pace paired with tact and power.
POLARIZER (members of ARMA)
Polarizer is the new music project of Taylor Brennan, Ian Palmer, Ben Ludwig, and Stan Tencza. Polarizer formed in October 2011.
Formed in 2010, Jimmy at the Prom is a rock band that just finished recording their first full-length album on their own label Gorp Music. The band takes an angular approach at combining the intricacies of hard progressive rock with pop melodies.
