Notes & Bolts featuring Sister Crystals / Peekaboos / Coffin Ships / The Iceberg
Tuesday, Dec 10, 2013 9:00 PM CST
(8:30 PM Doors)
Empty Bottle, Chicago, IL
21 years and over
For the first year, Notes and Bolts is doing a toy drive so that rad kids in the Chicagoland area can have a great Christmas morning!
Joining for the night will be SISTER CRYSTALS, PEEKABOOS, COFFIN SHIPS and THE ICEBERG, all putting their own forms of weirdo pop on display. Headlining tonight's showcase is SISTER CRYSTALS, a Chicago-based four-piece who specialize in all things dreamy. Melding swirling synths and cascading rhythms with twinkling guitars and airy vocals, these kids are pros at ripping out hearts in the nicest way possible. PEEKABOOS were born on Friday the 13th in April of 2012 and they released their first single, "Western Fall," on the 21st of December that same year. Needless to say, there’s an element of dread surrounding their freaky take on all things punk, garage and rock n’ roll. They also love Batman and dog parks so you should really watch your back cause you never when these maniacs will jump out from the darkest of shadows. One of the original Manic Static bands, COFFIN SHIPS hit the stage tonight with their short and eloquent songs that are torn little snippets of psychedelic pop bliss. Newcomers (to us at least) THE ICEBERG kick things off and feature members of ABSOLUTELY NOT, SWIMSUIT ADDITION and SYBRIS. If that's not a winning combination, we don't know what is, so show up early, stay late, and bring some freaking cool toys for the kids, ya heard?
Pizza will be provided FOR FREE by West Town Pizza Shop. Edition of 50 show posters, courtesy of Drug Factory Press.
