21 years and over
CHANDELIERS, a local experimental quartet that fuses analog synths with live percussion and drums return to headline our first FREE MONDAY of 2014. Called "music for a perfect world, the soundtrack for a club where the dawn never comes and the lights are never turned on," by The Wire, the band's 2012 release was hailed as "luminous Balearic electro-funk for the Nintendo generation." The quartet are experts at conjuring up early KRAFTWERK-meets-J DILLA at an Italian disco and we’re excited to hear the new tracks come to life tonight. Returning for their first Bottle show since July of 2013 is Chicago-based quartet VIDEOTAPE. Their mix of indie-pop, shoegaze and noisy undercurrents create a dense cloud of atmospherics for an ethereal and wistful sound. Their debut LP, This Is Disconnect, came out last year and was one of the more dynamic and captivating local record we listened to last year. SPACES OF DISAPPEARANCE is an electronic-based duo comprised of haunting vocalist ELAINE DAVIS and electronic wizard ZACH WILLIAM SMITH. The pair walks the line between New Wave and experimental pop while dipping their dirty little toes into more dance-friendly post-punk.
