Brooklyn's HUNTERS formed in 2009 and finally released their debut, self-titled full-length on Mom + Pop last week. That's not to say these kids haven't been busy, though. On top of that ripping, Electrical Audio-recorded LP, the group has released several tapes, 7-inches and an EP while cutting their teeth terrorizing DIY spaces and divey venues in NYC around the country. Founded by vocalist IZZY ALMEIDA and guitarist DEREK WATSON, the band has grown into a chaotic, grungey and beautifully violent, fuzzed-out punk rock attack that has won our hearts over time and again. Fullerton, CA's AUDACITY are known for their youthful exuberance and claim to be "the best band in the world" on their Facebook page - congrats, dudes! You can take the boys out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the boys and this rowdy quartet is hardly wet behind the ears after nine years of writing, recording and touring around the country. Their third LP, Butter Knife, was released last month on Suicide Squeeze and it's a balanced blend of pop sensibility and ribald power - their strongest to date and proof their one of the hottest bands on the Southern California scene. Emerging from Toronto's booming punk-rock scene, PUP fuses raw, aggressive energy with catchy earworms, big hooks and scream-along choruses. Playing loud and fast with unhinged fury, the band's live show is a sweaty, raucous, no-holds-barred event that's not to be missed, especially if it's anything like their gruesomely awesome video for "Reservoire." Local five-piece PINEBOCKS, the self-claimed "worst band in Chicago... best band in the world," kick of tonight's punk-rock explosion.
