Returning to SPACE for their annual holiday show, Foiled Again has been on the Chicago Cabaret scene for over 12 years with shows ranging from Harold Arlen tributes to the music of the Brill Building and their Joni Mitchell tribute show Dark Café Days, which won the group an After-Dark Award for Outstanding Cabaret Performance. Describing themselves as “cabaret in blue jeans.” Foiled Again has appeared in many of the city’s major venues including Davenport’s, The Drake Hotel, Chicago Cultural Center, The Acorn Theatre, and Writers’ Theatre. Notable past gigs include appearing in A Night at the Oscars in the 2011 Chicago Humanities Festival and opening for Lesley Gore in 2007. Foiled Again recorded their first CD, Foiled Again: Live in 2009 at SPACE (available at CDbaby.com or on iTunes).
Foiled Again features: Allison Bazarko – singer-songwriter and the group’s resident vocal arranger; Rob Lindley – Jeff Award winning actor for Writers’ Theatre’s Oh Coward, Jeff-Nominated for Court Theatre’s James Joyce’s The Dead, where he also starred in Angels in America; Anne Sheridan Smith – actress who appeared in Signal Ensemble’s Jeff Award winning production of 1776, Mae West in Boho Theatre’s Dirty Blonde, and will appear in the musical Juno at Timeline Theatre in 2014; Doug Peck – music director and five-time Jeff Award winner, recently premiered Disney’s The Jungle Book as music director and orchestrator at the Goodman Theatre.
