21 years and over
Vancouver-based electro-dance band BEAR MOUNTAIN make their way to the Empty Bottle tonight on a co-headlining tour with fellow Vancouverites THE BELLE GAME for what is sure to be a blissfully popped-out affair. With their name drawing reference from the Jack Kerouac classic “Dharma Bums,” BEAR MOUNTAIN have taken their hometown and beyond by storm with their debut album, XO, a collection of unmistakably fresh songs that manage to capture the feeling of the infinite and the impossible all rolled into one. Their live performances, which blend the band's hooky, lush synths, tropical rhythms and chopped vocals with tantalizing interactive visuals and lighting, are taking the country by storm and we can guarantee you'll be kicking yourself before these Canucks blow the fuck up in the coming year. THE BELLE GAME's wild and witchy tunes, which take a darker path than their fellow tourmates, are mythic and hypnotic, woven perfectly by the intricate guitar and keyboard lines, anchoring rhythms and gorgeous, graceful melodies. The band's debut album, Ritual Tradition Habit, came out this year on Boompa to much acclaim and we can't wait to have them enchant us in a boozy delight. Focused around the melodies of vintage rock, Chicago's HAWAIIAN LION open tonight's show and they'll be kicking out dance jams to all the lucky boys and girls who come out early. Get ready to party, party people.
