PANDA RIOT formed in Philadelphia while Brian and Rebecca were working on some short films. Soundtracks turned into songs and PANDA RIOT was born. After moving to Chicago, they expanded the band to include Cory and José. Their newest record, 2013's Northern Automatic Music is a collage of ghostly vocals, dance-y drums, dub-y bass lines and blurry guitars. It evokes nighttime, UFOs, and pyramids in the sky. Hailing from New Paltz, NY, BREAKFAST IN FUR combine elements of swirling psychedelia in their folk-inflected indie-rock, combining shimmering guitars with groovy basslines and chant-along vocals. Having played around the Northeast and opened for the likes of MAN MAN and O'DEATH, you can bet they'll be bringing their A-game tonight as they romp around the country on their Fall 2013 tour. Dark-folk group COINS is comprised of ELLEN BUNCH and ANGELA MULLENHOUR, a duo who conjures haunted spectres of late-night beach folk. Their first release, a five-song stargazer recorded and mixed by MIKE LUST at the legendary Phantom Manor (RIP), features dual-vocals and minimal instrumentation, mostly guitar and keys. It's a stunningly gorgeous debut that we can't wait to witness live.
