UK band 65daysofstatic – scored an unlikely hit in 2004 with their debut album, The Fall Of Math. Album two, 2005’s One Time For All Time, was then followed by The Destruction Of Small Ideas in 2007, and a whole lot of touring. Now, this electronically-inspired proggy math rock band brings their latest album, Wild Light. They’re touring with Caspian, a band who’s also made an inspired career playing instrumental rock that’s indebted to Aphex Twin, Brian Eno, as well as Godspeed! You Black Emperor and Mogwai. The other band -- yeah, the one with the really long name here -- that’s taking the opening slot is also committed to providing lovely and soul-searching music that doesn’t easily allow for shopworn rock maneuvers. These bands are the newest generation of “prog rock” in the realest sense. It’s music that’s been lovingly retooled to appeal to your finer senses.
