You may not recognize the name, but chances are you’ve heard them on the radio. A Silent Film are that rare indie act whose songs are so undeniable that they’re propelled straight to radio station playlists – propelled without a major label or other industry backing generally considered a must for success on the airwaves. Hailing from Oxford, England, the four‐piece band released their debut album The City That Sleeps in ‘08 in the UK and early 2010 in the U.S., earning the band comparisons to Coldplay and Snow Patrol, and garnering them major airplay at alternative radio, including a stint as the longest‐charting band on Sirius XM’s Alt‐18 countdown ever. Recently relocated to the U.S., and having toured with the likes of OneRepublic and Civil Twilight, the band is poised for follow-up success with their sophomore release Sand & Snow, out on June 5.
