Hailing from Lexington, KY, IDIOT GLEE, aka JAMES FRILEY, describes his sound as "post-doo-wop," and that's a pretty tidy approximation. On his self-titled debut EP, FRILEY loops his voice into a one-man combo, throws in some gentle, slightly fuzzed beats and turns the reverb up to 'Maximum Romantic'. Check out his Daytrotter session for a glimpse into the genius of the "idiot." Blending pop, soul, punk and rock into high energy, riveting performances, Chicago's CLOSE HITS - featuring members of the gleefully tuneful and ceaselessly energetic CAW! CAW! - make their Bottle debut tonight and we're ready for the fun. Coming to us all the way from Indianapolis, LEARNER DANCER has been praised by Metromix as, " one of the few local bands that are doing something original…. They are making something profoundly honest and raw." Chicago's one-man sound collage artist, BIGCOLOUR, has posted his fantastically minimal EP Centuries of Summer for download on his BandCamp page and we highly recommend grabbing the tracks and rocking out full volume on the headphones before tonight's show.
