17 years and over
We're jazzed to play host to an epic night of pure-as-fuck rock 'n roll at the esteemed Logan Square Auditorium. Brooklyn's THE MEN are swinging through town after having released their newest LP, New Moon, on Sacred Bones earlier this year. Channeling their heavy, DIY punk roots and bringing in rootsy, Americana influences, the album is a pure, no-bullshit, serious-as-a-heart-attack rock record. In the words of Pitchfork, the band has reached the tipping point, an imagined parallel universe in which "your favorite first-wave indie-rock bands never had to sign on corporate letterhead, never got anywhere near MTV, never toned down their act, and never got old-- they just kept on blowing minds at the peak of their powers in perpetuity." Once a mystery, now a sensation and another gem from the Bay Area's robust garage-rock universe, FUZZ is the latest project from mad man & Bottle friendly TY SEGALL. Playing with pals from the same alien planet, FUZZ is doom-fueled rock & roll that sounds like something Satan spawned after partying with SABBATH back in the day. Philly four-piece PURLING HISS return to our town tonight, still touring behind their excellent new LP Water on Mars, released on Drag City this past March. A fuzz-addled romp that marks the outfit’s first LP to be recorded in a professional studio, PURLING HISS has evolved into a power trio of sorts, writing and recording murky, nearly-anthemic jams that transform into blistering mutations live. Gnarly, nois-rockin' fools CCR HEADCLEANER, one of the better band names you'll come across, hail from all over the country, and these American boyzz are here to freak you the fuhk out.
