Some cool stuff about The Weeks you should know about. 1. They named their most recent album Dear Bo Jackson, after the great athlete who was named an all-star both in the NFL and Major League Baseball. He also won the Heisman Trophy while playing at Auburn. So why did the Weeks pick Bo Jackson? Because the band feels that, musically speaking, they can pretty much try their hand at a variety of styles. Just like Bo. 2. Dear Bo Jackson is on the Snakes and Serpents label run by Nashville band Kings of Leon. Heard of them? Now, the Weeks have been cracked on for sounding a bit too much like this aforementioned arena band, but 3. The Weeks nicely mash together southern rock, soul music, and punk into something that bordering on really unique. Which means, keep your eyes on these young men. They might be onto something, starting right about now. In the middle slot, we have Local H frontman Scott Lucas and his new, darkly poetic country group, The Married Men. Charlotte, North Carolina band Junior Astronomers take the opening slot.
