About the only thing the Ben Miller and the Steve Miller Band have in common is that they have been known to speak of the “pompatus” of love. Now, neither Miller is coughing up on the goods here, but let us assure you, that once the Missouri trio known as The Ben Miller Band starts rockin’, you might forget about the Space Cowboy himself. Combining distorted acoustic slide guitar, washboard bass, and sometimes even a trombone, the Ben Miller Band promise nothing but blues that rocks like punk and goes down like moonshine. These guys just came off a European tour with none other than ZZ Top, so you’d better believe they’re ready to handle Cleveland! Cleveland blues man Jeff Powers will wail mightily on a three-string guitarbox and stomp on a tambourine. We’re not 100% we want to find out what “gutbucket” is, but that’s the kind of adjectives writers might use here. We’ll just call it rock n’ roll.
