Since 1991, Internal Bleeding has been at the forefront of developing a style of death metal that focuses on punishing pit-inducing riffs as opposed to fiery showcases of technicality, speed and fretboard wizardry. This style—known today as "Slam"—was almost unheard of when the band released their second groundbreaking demo, "Invocation of Evil" in late 1992 (they released a very raw demo in 1991). 20 years later, Slam reigns supreme and Internal Bleeding are at the head of a the movement they helped start.
