After graduating from George Washington University, Feeny moved to Los Angeles. There, she met fellow musician Joe Purdy, who recorded her first album. Joe Purdy recorded her first album, a self-titled affair that garnered acclaim for its compelling songwriting and sparse, melancholic mood. The album won Feeny an audience in Belgium where it was championed by French language radio station Classic 21. Feeny’s song, “Mr. Blue”, from her Hurricane Glass album, was featured in Running With Scissors, The O.C. and Miss Conception. Her politically-engaged album, America, was written in response to the Occupy Wall Street protests, and won her the attention of activist/writer Eve Ensler (The Vagina Monologues). Catherine has performed supporting Wilco, Martha Wainwright, Suzanne Vega, and many others. Feeny’s invited unique Portland, OR-based band, Sama Dams, to compliment her tunes with their own idiosyncratic and experimental rock, which draws from psychedelia to Krautrock. Cleveland singer-songwriter Maura Rogers with her accordion-playing pal Meredith will get things started.
