21 years and over
BIRDCLOUD is a pair of young ladies from Tennessee who stole our hearts and warmed our cold, dead souls when they played our stage this past February. The two gals, Makenzie and Jasmin, became friends in 2009 and wrote their first song together, a song about going down on your best friend, that’s since been lost to the sands of time. Since then they’ve gotten lukewarm responses around their adopted home of Nashville, but continue to sit on each other’s faces and show each other their bruises while writing brilliantly hilarious songs like “Warshing My Big Ol’ Pussy” and “Saving Myself for Jesus.” They're something of a staff favorite here at the Empty Bottle. One of that Milwaukee's finest exports, CALL ME LIGHTNING return for the first time in over two years with a batch of awesome new songs - some of the catchiest to date - to follow up 2010's excellent When I Am Gone My Blood Will Be Free, out via Dusty Medical Records. Playing their cacophonous, disorienting and madcap rock that's packed to the brim with inspired guitar licks and biting, caterwauling vocals, CML have warmed our hearts (and our pants) for years and we couldn't be more excited to welcome them back to our stage. One of our new favorite new punk bands to sprout up over the past year, raucous Chicagoland heathens THE MORONS return to grace our stage with their distinct brand of debaucherous punk rawk. Be sure and say hi to em after they’re set cause they’re some of the nicest fellas you’ll meet.
