Sean Healy proudly presents hip hop legends Method Man (of Wu-Tang Clan) & Redman (of Def Squad) live at the Belasco, Thursday June 6th.
Both artists are prolific in their own right, and together they produce terrific musical chemistry unlike any other collaboration in hip hop. Method Man was the first -- and biggest -- solo star to emerge from the groundbreaking Wu-Tang Clan. Redman made his world debut in 1990 on the EPMD album Business as Usual, and after his first album, What? Thee Album, he was named "Rap Artist of the Year" by The Source. As both were signed to Def Jam, Meth & Red met in 1995 in the recording studio of Tupac’s “Got My Mind Made Up” for his multi-platinum album All Eyez on Me. In 1999, the two MCs released their first studio album, Blackout!, which quickly went platinum, followed by Blackout! 2, released in 2009.
Their success would lead the duo on to star in movies and TV shows, and to become product spokesmen and household names. Most notably, their co-starring roles in the major motion picture film How High; Redman's starring role in Seed of Chucky; Method Man’s appearance in Garden State and Soul Plane; and a sitcom on Fox Television entitled Method & Red -- not to mention a long list of other television, video game, and big screen roles for both stars.
Now, proving their partnership only matures with age, Meth & Red make an exclusive appearance June 6th at the recently revived Belasco, a gorgeous L.A. venue built in 1926. After a years-long, $12 million renovation, the venerable downtown landmark will host a rare performance from one of this generationʼs most popular and respected hip hop acts.
