Additional Information

Part of Copenhagen’s thriving underground punk scene, the same one that spawned hardcore kings and Empty Bottle faves ICEAGE, new-ish four-piece LOWER brings the same earnest intensity as their peers and has emerged as a promising new voice in contemporary punk rock. Their visceral, dense and beguilingly poetic attack combines no wave abandon with post-punk finesse to create noisy, joyless carnage that’s ominous, frantic and fucking exhilarating. Their 2012 EP, Walk On Heads, was a thrilling introduction and we can’t wait for their debut LP to be released this fall. Chicago-based hardcore-punkers WARRIOR TRIBES make their Bottle debut tonight, wearing their influences of WIRE and WIPERS on their sleeveless arms while adding a hefty dose of reverb. Chicago/Milwaukee outfit CIRCLES got their Sled Island Festival show canceled so they've decided to fly home tonight to play this show! The group hasn't been around long, but they've already picked up some solid press clips: The Detroit Daily Press calls the quartet “pop music for educated, upper-middle class, pretentious white people” (ha!) while The Pittsburgh Three River Times calls a CIRCLES live performance "akin to the long awaited sequel, Goonies II, with the treasure chest full of pills instead of gold." Hey now! Featuring members of RADAR EYES, FOOTBALL and FRANCE HAS THE BOMB, they create a decidedly melodic garagey racket that tingles our dingles in all the right places. Also calling this fair city home, punk-rock trio FINAL GRIN return to open the show, their first play here since opening for ICEAGE back in April, and we're stoked to have em back. Expect a short set cause these maniacs don't mess around.
