Since the late 90s, Michigan trio WOLF EYES have been known to create harsh and hypnotic electronic landscapes that merge the frenzied energy of hardcore with the nihilistic menace of early industrial and noise. A homemade atomic bomb, the group has toured constantly since the early 2000s and their unfathomably prolific output has garnered a strong cult following, as well as a new generation of curious listeners. WOLF EYES' most recent record, No Answer: Lower Floors, released last month on De Stijl, is a tangled, destroyed space of vocals, primitive electronics and raw guitars that fuse with odd melodies and mangled harmonics. The album wastes no space and has less internal misery at its base, breathing another new life into WOLF EYES that is alarmingly colorful. This past October YAKUZA celebrated the release of Beyul, out via Profound Lore, their sixth LP that continues to pulverize the path laid down on their stellar 2010 album Of Seismic Consequence. YAKUZA have long shown proclivities for music beyond metal, and it's their willingness to incorporate these many and varied influences that sets them apart from their peers. The adventurousness and experimentation we've come to expect from the group are again fully evident, as YAKUZA continues to push the envelope, carving an unchallenged niche in the metal genre. Tonight YAKUZA will be joined by none other than Mr. SANFORD PARKER on synth - your eyes and ears will bleed simultaneously. Formed in New York in the mid-90s, BLOODYMINDED is a heavy power-electronic band whose distinct brand of noise music is informed by pre- and post-punk and noise rock, as well as British hardcore and grindcore. Now with members scattered around the U.S. and one in France, BLOODYMINDED shows are few and far between so you can imagine we’re pretty fucking stoked to welcome back their insane live show, which is a thing of legends. Tonigth's expanded BLOODYMINDED lineup will include WILL LINDSAY, JAMES MOY, ISIDRO REYES, PIETER SCHOOLWERTH and MARK SOLOTROFF.
