Bye Bye 17, the anticipated new album from acclaimed singer, songwriter and performer HAR MAR SUPERSTAR (aka SEAN TILLMAN), is set to be released April 23 on Cult Records. This is HAR MAR's fifth full-length releaseand follows his critically acclaimed 2009 release, Dark Touches. Of the release, the BBC heralds, “Dark Touches is a hook-packed, skillfully produced guilty pleasure of a record that it’s almost impossible not to enjoy,” while the Cincinnati CityBeat declares, “simply further proof of Sean Tillmann’s astonishingly broad-yet-laser-guided sense of humor and flawless musical bag of tricks.” THE CHALICE is an all-female hip-hop collective from Minneapolis who've taken that city's vibrant hip-hop scene by storm. The response to their one public song “Push It” has been overwhelming and the trio is something the state hasn’t seen in a very long time: three respected female hip-hop artists under one roof, harnessing the girl-power that ABY WOLF, DESSA, MARIA ISA and DESDAMONA have established in recent years. MY BLUE VALENTINE returns to open tonight's show with their contradictory and refreshing take on sounds of yore. Imagine – if you can – BILLIE HOLIDAY at a honky-tonk, PATSY CLINE in a smoke-filled, Southern R&B juke joint, AMY WINEHOUSE, finished with rehab, dreaming of one last drink, fronting X in Exene's absence. MY BLUE VALENTINE worships at the temple of late-50's bluesmen and early-60's girl groups, bordertown Texican swing and torch-song balladry.
