Industrial pop wizard WESLEY EISOLD is the dark wave mastermind behind solo project and machine-pop cacophony COLD CAVE. Currently unattached to a record label, COLD CAVE is releasing a series of singles that have received much critical acclaim for their grinding industrial noises that collide with EISOLD’s lilting melodies. With IGGY aesthetics and chops to earn a spot playing with SONIC YOUTH, COLD CAVE’s noisy dark wave pop summons memories of synth-pop and industrial rock gods past. Recent collaborator BOYD RICE will be joining the COLD CAVE tour, supporting his 2012 record, Back to Mono, out via Mute, the first record RICE has released since 2002’s Children Of The Black Sun. Featuring tracks recorded and produced by EISOLD, as well as a new version if 1978’s pioneering track “Watusi,” the album is a return to RICE’s noise-roots, a genre he helped create in the 1970s. This tour marks BOYD’s first North American performances since a New York show earlier last year to support the new release. One of our favorites, DJ PHILLY PEROXIDE will be spinning the dark and synthy and apocalyptic sounding tunes throughout the night.
