Ready for some sing-along catharsis? Lady Lamb The Beekeeper, aka Aly Spaltro, isn't afraid to take the equivalent of her intimate, emotion-riddled inner thoughts, and set them to occasionally jaunty folk-rock. Let’s not forget Lady Lamb’s voice, too, full of both fiery bellow and tender hurt. On her latest album, Ripely Pine, “Spaltro wields ferocity and timidity equally well, to the extent that it’s hard to tell which is her more frightening mode.” (Pitchfork) Taking a wildly grand turn away from Lady Lamb is Xenia Rubinos, singing a sexy, Latinified brand of math-rock that could only be classified as make-out music for a future world that never was. Healing Power is a Cincy band formerly known as Pomegranates, whose grooves bring to mind the Hacienda heyday of UK music. That is to say, some dancing and perhaps even less legal activities might have taken place in the presence of Healing Power. Another brief look at this bill, and frankly, this show can’t fail.
