Additional Information

Experimental freaky psych-folk trio AKRON/FAMILY are returning to the Bottle for the first time since 2005, back when the then four-piece were garnering much love and attention for their debut self-titled record. Having toured the globe, released a high number of stellar albums and shifted their vision through various kaleidoscopic lenses, A/F will be traveling our way this time in support of Sub Verses, out April 30th via Dead Oceans, an LP that sees the band at the height of their chameleonic powers. SWANS leader MICHAEL GIRA, who released their first few albums on his Young God Records, wrote a lengthy, stream-of-consciousness letter while listening to the record, showering the band with affection: "We find them rocking (still rocking) but now in a skittering kaleidoscope. The shards of music styles and influences flung through the speakers from all directions, congealing for a second, then just as quickly dissolving into something new and unexpected." Madison instrumental quartet ALL TINY CREATURES return with a new album on the horizon, Dark Clock, which will be released in May on Hometapes. Weaving together driving, hypnotic pieces that are equal parts classical, drone, and chamber pop, the result is just downright lovely and damn-fun. LA-based producer M GEDDES GENGRAS, who you may know from Icon Give Thank, a three-way collaboration with SUN ARAW and THE CONGOS, opens the show tonight with his digital and analog mindfuckery that melds fractured synth sounds with heavy, throbbing rhythms and swirling electroacoustic explorations.
