The Chicago Mixtape is 2 years old! What better way to celebrate than by having a fundraising party at the Bottle – lord knows they can’t possibly be making any money… This year’s celebration will feature four great Chicago bands that all bring their own distinct flavor to our city’s diverse music culture. THE CONGREGATION is a supremely dynamic eight-piece collective that melds classic soul with rock and roll for a little bit of longing and a whole lot of wronging. Chicago’s PSALM ONE is the first and only woman signed to Rhymesayers Entertainment and the self-proclaimed “fuck a” fem-cee is gearing up for her second official LP, the follow up to 2006’s critically acclaimed The Death of Frequent Flyer. SANTAH returns to the Bottle tonight having drifted away from the heartbreak of their 2010 debut White Noise Bed to the head-over-heels bliss and warmth of their new LP You’re Still a Lover, a record that sees the band wading into warmer, dreamier soundscapes. ANIMAL CITY kicks things off with their bombastic, balls-to-the-wall rock’n’roll that’s as tight and limber as it is chaotic and extraterrestrial and we’re happy to host their alien madness. DJ MISS ALEX WHITE will be spinning your rock favorites all night long.
