21 years and over
Allow us to introduce the US debut of 24-year old Dutch multi-instrumentalist JACCO GARDNER – prepare to have your minds blown. After releasing a criminally limited 7-inch in Europe earlier in 2012, GARDNER returns with a brand-new, double dose of hits on his new LP for Trouble In Mind. Where Will You Go is that record and it is a lurching, dreamy baroque-pop groover, with lush melodies cascading over driving drum beats that conjure up images of SYD BARRET jamming with Revolver-era BEATLES. Heavenly psychedelic, GARDNER plays gem after gem, maneuvering his way around the various eras he visits and escaping the trappings of rip-offdom by creating a unique and stirring new approach. Joining GARDNER from the damp and misty woods of New Hampshire are MMOSS, a band who seemingly emerged out of nowhere with one of our favorite psychedelic jams, their second full length and first with – you guessed it – local tastemakers Trouble In Mind. Swirling and shimmering in the heaviest and trippiest of ways, Only Children is an expanded burst of musical mayhem, moving from motorik kruat-rock to drone to melancholic pop that will take you down like a sinking pirate ship. Toronto-based BELIEFS bring their dremy shoegaze collage to open tonight’s show, playing tracks off their recently-released self-titled album, out on March 5th via Manimal. DJs PSYCHED ALEX and LSDINO will be spinning the best in psychedelic rock throughout the night.
