CHELSEA LIGHT MOVING is THURSTON MOORE from SONIC YOUTH's new band. It's the sound of wild boys looking to jack hypos of core passion into their veins. Boy on boy. Girl on girl. Start there. It’s not even music – it’s an amphetamine sonnet for the on-the-loose lovers of the world. The tracks we've heard from their debut LP, to be released sometime early this year via Matador, are as anxious and messy and chaotic as any of your favorite SONIC YOUTH tracks that left you flailing and screaming along in your parents' basement as a wee lad or lass. We can't wait to see what they've got live. Local mind-blowers CAVE return with their expansive, Krautrock-worshipping spaced-out trance-rock fraught with hypnotic synths, aggressive percussion and hard rocking guitar. On their most recent, mostly-instrumental LP for Drag City, Neverendless, the fella’s give new meaning to the phrase “extended jam,” on tracks driven by heavy riffs and drenched psychedelics. Noisy madman JEREMY LEMOS opens the show with a set of modular synth mindfuckery.
