21 years and over
While gaining comparisons to the likes of Radiohead, Wilco, Jim James, Neil Young, Modest Mouse, Local Natives, Bon Iver, and Death Cab for Cutie, Tan Vampires have created a genre-less sound that is uniquely their own.
Originally started as a solo project by lead singer/songwriter Jake Mehrmann, it was not long before he acquired an all-star line-up of Seacoast New Hampshire musicians to establish their full-bodied sound. Tan Vampires released their debut album, "For Physical Fitness", on September 20th 2011. During their record release week the band supported well known artists including Yo La Tengo and Okkervil River and also headlined three sold out shows of their own. In October 2011, the band performed at two official CMJ showcases in New York City and since have continued to build their fanbase in Boston, New York and around the northeast. Tan Vampires kicked off 2012 by performing Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. The remainder of the 2012 is being dedicated to recording a new EP and working diligently on writing, recording, and touring the United States of America.
