The Shakers rock, plain and simple. They bring mountains of teeth-shattering guitar riffs and deep oceans of Motown infused grooves which build the launching pad for the angelic air-raid siren that is Jodie Schell's intoxicating vocals. Called AC/DC meets the Supremes or The Black Keys meets Heart, The Shakers incredible live energy and talent are the dirt, grit and power your analog partied-hard soul has been missing.
With their high energy sound and unforgettably catchy music, it's no wonder The Shakers have built a reputation as one of the country's hottest new independent national acts. The Shaker's first EP showcased their unique mixture of Motown inspired grooves with face pounding, guitar drenched riffs and transformed their sound into melodic high energy rock'n'roll with a soulful backbone. Their first single, "Distress Signal," was featured on radio stations across the country; most notably by WMMR Philadelphia and the legendary Rodney Bingenheimer of KROQ Los Angeles.
Just over 2 years old, they've opened for EVERCLEAR, OUR LADY PEACE, KIDNEYTHIEVES, SEMI PRECIOUS WEAPONS and FICTIONIST and have gained a reputation for pounding the pavement hard in LA and abroad. Though the sunset strip is their home turf with repeat sold out appearances at Viper Room, The Roxy, and The Troubadour, they've also grown to consider these venues 'home': The Sail Inn (Tempe, AZ), World Cafe Live & The Theatre of Living Arts (TLA, Fillmore East, Philadelphia), The Bitter End & Kennys Castaways (NY), Grant & Green and Boom Boom Room (San Francisco), Subterranean (Chicago), and a growing number of cities from coast to coast. Their high energy shows often place them at various sporting events with the likes of The LA Derby Dolls, San Diego and Orange County Roller Derby Leagues, and The Phoenix Coyotes Hockey Arena. On November 5th, 2011 The Shakers released their first full length record Oh So Loud, through NRG Studios and The Bunny Ranch Studios, which was mastered by legendary Lurssen Mastering Studios. The first single off this record, "Hey Lil Darlin" has been gaining airplay throughout Los Angeles, Utah and Philadelphia. The band continues their powerful storm of the country as an independent force to be reckoned with and wont stop until they've unleashed their fire fueled rock on the entire world.
