21 years and over
Based in Brooklyn but raised in the DC hardcore community, DANIEL MARTIN-McCORMICK has evolved from a classicaly trained, hardcore-leaning guitarist into an experimenter of house and electronica. ITAL is the latter, solo project of Mr. MARTIN-McCORMICK and we're stoked to have him play our club after hitting Chicago a few times in 2012. Using house’s easy going 4/4 structure as a kind of camouflage for more out-there sonic explorations, ITAL subverts expectations, seeking out the links between the space and the sound-bending of dub & industrial’s unsettling sonics with the grooves of classic house and the effects and black holes of minimal at it’s weirdest. CHRIS SHIVELY aka CHRISSY MURDERBOT is a Chicago-based DJ/producer in love with booty-rave-jungle-house-bass-bashment-ghetto-garage-core. He’s the man behind the forward-thinking dance label Sleazetone Records, as well as the now-legendary jungle label Dead Homies Recordings and the new booty music label Loose Squares. Having released for a variety of labels including Klang Elektronik and Mathematics Recordings and as part of THE DIRTY CRIMINALS, JAMAL MOSS, aka HIEROGLYPHIC BEING, has long been a part of the Chicago house/techno scene as both a producer and DJ and his two EPs have taken his SUN RA influences to dizzying new heights of advanced, intuitive techno-jazz. HIEROGLYPHIC BEING'S music has been called "Afrofuturism," and the psychedelic splendor on his recorded output has been called "a must for people who are into electronic improvisations" by Different Fountains.
