Additional Information

The signs of life's coming attractions came early and often for Chris Lightfoot, who first tested the musical waters at the age of 4, spending his time beating a small hand drum while most of his friends were consumed by toy tucks and dinosaurs. He would spend the next several years playing anything he could get his hands on, from cheap keyboards to accordions, until becoming infatuated with the electric guitar at age 10.

"My Dad and I used to paint back in his studio, and he'd play music all the time. One day, I'll never forget it, "Fields of Joy" by Lenny Kravitz came on. The second Slash's solo started, I knew that was it, that was what I wanted to do."

It was also around this time that Chris discovered his love for songwriting, although he wouldn't fully pursue it until years later.

"I can't even remember why or at what point I started, I've just always written songs. The first one I really remember was in 3rd grade, I wrote a song called "Room 14" about a girl from the classroom down the hall that I had a crush on."

Chris spent nearly his entire adolescent life immersed in his passion for music. He won awards, (most notably the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award his senior year, previous winners include John Mayer and Steve Vai), played his first gigs and released his first recordings. Following in the footsteps of another childhood hero, Prince, Chris taught himself keyboards, bass, drums and vocals, before pulling it all together by learning how to produce and distribute his own music. After graduating from high school, he hit the ground running, becoming a go-to musician for hire in the LA area while honing his own material behind the scenes.

By 2011, Chris Lightfoot had come into his own, starting the year with a sold out show at the Roxy in Hollywood and releasing his first full length album, The Present Future. Since then he has been a dedicated street performer on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, making his living while establishing a loyal following and further honing his artistic vision.
