21 years and over
Tonight's cheap-ass rock'n'roll Thursday night marks the return of Atlanta-based pop quartet GRINGO STARR. Boiling up from the indie musical cauldron the city has become, their critically acclaimed 08 debut All Y’All was followed up last year with their sophomore effort Count Yer Lucky Stars and a 7" released this past December called Going Way Out b/w Taller' - both are collections of catchy and instantly classic pop tunes that will swing you around the room by the throat. Sounding truly out of time, JOHN CARPENTER makes his Bottle debut tonight, bringing with him a scuzy, psychy blues-rock that captures the rainy, baroque grandeur of ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN with jagged riffs, bouts of wild shredding and a dire, menacing voice that never goes over the top. CARPENTER has self-released almost all of his own music under his own Lost Industry label, much of which has received critical acclaim for its unsettling, sinister and romantic undercurrents. Off kilter pop meets driving guitars and good old fashioned noise with the NOTHINGHEADS, a band that specializes in a kind of skronky and strange guitar rock that doesn't forget hooks in its pursuit of weirdness. Chicago's psychedelic post-apocalyptic space cowboy rock'n'rollers BOOTS WITH SPURS kick things off and they'll be bringing pizza for everyone who shows up early.
