Occasionally bands leave dingy basements and vibrant DIY spaces around town to play clubs and we’re always stoked when this happens because a lot of these bands are great and it’s cool to hear them and see them play on our stage. Tonight is one of those nights and it features locals TOUPEE, who return to the stage with their battered and bruised punk rock. Raw, noisy and, at times, dangerous, TOUPEE are a treat live – a treat wrapped in barbed wire ready to explode. Known for being lo-fi purist, it’s surprising how brutal KING TUTS TOMB can sound on their fuzzy, fucked up recordings. They make their Bottle debut tonight and we can’t wait to finally see their raucous live show in the flesh. DIY-newcomers ONYX SYSTEM and BALL DROP also hit the Bottle for this one, both bringing their fresh take on synthed-out lo-fi no wave.
