MAGIC TRICK is the solo project of FRESH & ONLYS frontman TIM COHEN. They released a new LP on Hardly Art in June 2012 called Ruler of the Night. The four-piece make weirdo psychedelic folk, in true Bay Area fashion and what makes them unique is the soft, atmospheric tone, fit with subtle arrangement quirks, fresh world rhythms, trippy noises, and rich reverb. Chicago’s own THE CAIRO GANG join the bill. They released their first album in six years, The Corner Man, in October and we’re stoked to have em back to our stage. Time Out Chicago praised the record as a "sonic excursion," one that "delicately traverses psych, Americana, garage and Spanish flourishes. And lyrically, many of the songs drive a slow knife." Newcomers THE BLAST BEATS start the night off with their lo-fi pop goodies.
